to a very special Totally Clinical. In keeping with the season we've something a little bit different for you this week. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a flying reindeer? Nope, it's Teckro’s Chief Medical Officer Brendan Buckley, who joins us from the comfort of his cozy fireside chair to read his own take on one of the oldest and most popular holiday poems. So take a sip of your eggnog, put your feet up and don't touch that dial. It's time for the Totally Clinical holiday special.

T’was the night before
Christmas, when all through the site,
The staff on the trial were not feeling too bright;
The papers and forms were all over the desk,
In hopes that a hero would sort out the mess;
The staff were so tired and wanting their beds,
As delays and more problems addled their heads;
The patients are waiting, I’m still in my scrubs,
There might be no time to see friends in the pubs,
And what do my weary but wide eyes then see?
My colleagues all waving and calling to me.
A long grueling day and a tiring shift,
But Teckro was ready – this was our gift.
A spring in our step, not a moment to lose,
This was the time for excellent news;
"Less PAPER! less, EMAIL! less, WORRY and WASTING!
Less TO-ING and FRO-ING! yes, MORE patient-FACING!
On a cool smartphone app, so clean and so quick,
And laptop or tablet! It's lickety-split!"
Out of our pockets, their smartphones they drew,
Friendly and easy, they knew what to do;
A tap on the app with the tip of a finger,
No paper, no portals and no need to linger,
A notification, a message received,
Point of care guidance, to watch or to read.
Their eyes -- how they twinkled! The hope and the joy!
We chatted like children unwrapping a toy!
A thing for us weary site staff to behold,
A present more special than silver or gold.
And everyone’s smile just continued to grow,
With visions of easier trial site workflow;
The patients are ready, the first is next week,
We're primed and prepared with the knowledge we seek.
A glance at our smartphone is all it will take,
The digital protocol without the headache.
A swipe of the screen or a click of the mouse,
Working on-site or at home in our house;
Search and engage and connect with great speed,
Answers forthcoming and insights we need.
The mission is modern and sprinkled with magic,
The straightforward app takes away any panic;
We spring to our feet, as the team clap and whistle,
Our minds are awake and as sharp as a thistle.
And I hear someone shout, among laughter and smiles,
“IT'S TECKRO FOR ALL, AND FOR ALL, STRESS-FREE CLINICAL TRIALS!”
